April Update

We realized we've been updating kickstarter, but not here! We will remedy that now! Here is our April update:

Introduction

Hello all! April has come and gone so fast, but we've got a lot of progress to show you. We have been moving along at a steady pace and are super excited to show everything off, so let's get started. We've got some lovely art to show, and a gameplay video of one of the new scenes!

Wallpapers

One more wallpaper has been finished, bringing the total to 3! We have four more planned, so the final total will be seven. Here it is in all its glory:

(If you don't want to see the wallpapers in advance, scroll past!)

Backers who pledged enough to receive these will be getting them in full HD once all the wallpapers are complete. Here are all the current wallpapers together in case you missed the last update:

What wallpaper is up next? Here's a hint: it's going to feature a beautiful priestess...

Art

One more CG has been completed! And another is in the works, with a sketch done.

Who is this mysterious bruh with a fluffy tail and air of mystery? Find out soon!

Somebody needs to clip their nails.  🙄

Our artist will be finishing up the above CG next, and then working on... could it be? A new sprite! This is all possible thanks to your amazing contributions. Wallpapers are drawn intermittently while waiting for new scenes to be programmed.

Story

Writing and editing is coming along well, scene one of twist's path has been adjusted slightly, and a new scene has been finished. Scene 2 is currently being edited, and is nearly done, complete with several new parts and a new character debut! The current word count is about 28,000 words, we expect with the extra scenes that will increase it to around 33,000.

UI

Weren't expecting a UI update were you? Well Twisted has some fancy new quick menu icons! They light up when you hover over them. Much better than boring old text!

Programming

The game is currently error free (WHOO) after some painstaking efforts from our programmer. All the currently finished scenes are up and playable. We will be sending the game out to beta testers once one route has been completely inserted into the game.

Here are the statistics of what's been inserted so far:

Statistics:

The game contains 888 dialogue blocks, containing 9,566 words and 49,327 characters, for an average of 10.8 words and 56 characters per block.

The game contains 6 menus, 193 images, and 15 screens.

That means it is about one third programmed! Ay!

Conclusion and What's Next

Thank you so much for your guy's patience! We anticipate Twist's route being finished very soon. The art is a little more ambiguous because as promised, we have put no limit on the number of CGs. Just a few minutes ago we decided to add a new one in an already completed scene! We really want to push Twisted's storylike vibe and give you stunning visuals as you play through.

That being said, we don't want to drag out production, so we'll keep an eye on our CGs, how long they take to be completed, and how much longer writing, editing, and programming will take to ensure everything wraps up around the same time. We don't have a clear estimate just yet, but once Twist's route is finished we should be able to set a release date.

We also plan to have a real start screen very soon! While the current one is lovely, it uses the BG assets, and we'd like to have something a little more memorable.

Here is the current screen:

Here is the new screen!

Yes, just gorgeous. Never have there been more beautiful trees put on the internet. You can tell those are trees, right? Don't worry, it'll look much nicer when it's complete. It will also feature slight changes depending on your most recent ending!

Thank you all for your continued patience and support, and we will keep working hard!
